On 28th February 2013 six hundred and thirty-two students graduated in Rural Development, Information Systems and Management, Finance, Accounting, Marketing and Law from the  Institute of Lay Adventists of Kigali with a call from the Director-General of Education Planning in the Ministry of Education, Dr Erasme Rwanamiza, to Rwandan universities to observe education standards.

Ndayisaba Saidi Hamiss, INILAK third year law student, secured a bronze medal during the 8th Edition of the Biannual East African University Games (EAUG 2013) held in Dar es salaam from 08 – 12th February 2013. Ndayisaba who represented the Independent Institute of Lay Adventists of Kigali and Rwanda in this competition, came third in a 200-metre sprint, while Ugandans won the first (Gold medal) and second (Silver medal) positions...

Having felt the shortage the country suffered in skilled personnel, since most of them had succumbed to the 1994 genocide, Adventist parents through the Federation of Adventist Parents’ Associations for the Development of Education in Rwanda (FAPADER) established the Independent Institute of Lay Adventists of Kigali, a foremost contributor to skills gap bridging.
